Day 15 Sunday 26 June 2016 Novosibirsk to Omsk

Shame to be leaving, I’ve really enjoyed our stay in Novosibirsk. Started this morning with a jog round my bedroom, a steam bath and then a crafty skinny dip in the fourth floor infinity pool with views across the city. All done chuckling.

Some crews got some rest and I understand some took in an opera. Best use of a rest day had to go to the Capri crew who got a respray:

Can armoured cars be cool?

Big crowds for the restart. We had a very dull day as the four trials set for today were cancelled. Drove along some deadly two lane blacktop for 700km.  Deadly dull and deadly dangerous as we’ve been ducking in and out of the trucks all day.  You can often see a long way ahead, but the road is really busy.  Geen has loads of poke which makes it easier, must be tough on the lower powered cars.

I think tomorrow will be more of the same…

Aleks Ivanov enjoyed sitting in Geen

And I really enjoyed sitting in his amphibious Jeep.

  1. Hilarious. He looks like something out of a Pierre et Giles pic in the AMX; not sure how to describe how you look in the amphibious jeep – apart from delighted. Is it the tank aesthetic?
